EFT

Acupuncture needles are not the only way to access and activate your body’s built-in healing mechanisms.  We can also use acupressure or “tapping” of the meridians, the energetic pathways used in Chinese Medicine and acupuncture.  This technique is also sometimes referred to as Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT.  Tapping is a gentle, non-needle acupressure procedure that can be helpful for issues such as general stress, anxiety, physical pain, emotional trauma, negative beliefs, and stopping habits such as smoking or emotional overeating.

Research suggests that tapping helps calm the body’s stress reaction, decreasing activity in the area of the brain associated with the fight-or-flight response and even lowering cortisol levels (a hormone associated with prolonged stress in the body).  By calming the body while concentrating on a physical or emotional concern, EFT essentially reprograms the body’s response to the imbalance.

Tapping is an easy technique to learn, even if you know nothing about Chinese Medicine.  Once you learn the routine, tapping can be used any time you choose to calm your nervous system and rebalance your body.  Tapping can also be an excellent supportive technique to add to any other therapy, healing, or self-growth work you are doing.

EFT/Tapping appointments last 1.5 hours ($135) and include:

  • Discussion of your concern or health problem
  • Demonstration and instruction of self-acupressure point protocol
  • Treatment of your specific concern or health problem with acupressure protocol
