About Norah

Norah found Chinese Medicine through her own healing process. Frustrated by the Western approach to her chronic and severe headaches, she finally ended up in an acupuncturist’s office. There she found both a solution for her pain and a new career path.

Norah specializes in helping people in pain who want to be healthy and active. She has seen how chronic pain can rob people of many of the joys of life, interfering with relationships and life experiences. She is therefore passionate about assisting people in regaining balance and power around their health. She believes the body has a great capacity to heal if it is given the correct support.

Norah has studied and practiced meditation, tai chi and qi gong for many years. She teaches both individuals and groups these powerful ancient self-care techniques, and taught weekly qi gong and tai chi classes at a local senior center for several years.  Norah also earned certification in posture therapy, which corrects body alignment through therapeutic exercises. She combines all these tools to create a thorough and unique treatment plan for each person.

Norah has been in private practice for nearly 20 years, beginning her career in a busy, established acupuncture center in La Jolla, California. There she gained extensive experience with a number of health issues, including male and female infertility, gynecological issues, menopausal symptoms, anxiety, depression, addictions, and digestive disorders, and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. She practiced at this center for almost ten years before opening her own practice in Los Angeles.

Norah has also treated eating disorders in both private practice and in outpatient programs. In addition to authoring multiple articles about Chinese medicine’s role in ending eating struggles, she is a popular presenter to psychotherapy and medical professional groups about Chinese medicine’s value in eating disorder recovery.

Norah earned her master’s degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and is both California and nationally certified in acupuncture and herbal medicine. In addition, Norah has studied in China, doing clinical work at Nanjing Hospital and attending seminars through the China Nanjing International Acupuncture Training Center.

Norah lives with her wife and dog (Tuxedo), and loves practicing tai chi, volunteering with animal rescues, and playing dodgeball (yes, seriously). She is immensely grateful to be able to practice Chinese medicine and work with people to achieve their health and wellness goals.
